This is the Worst Joker and whether he will ever be redeemed.

There have been many great iterations of the Joker throughout film history. If you look back they are all beloved and unique. The Joker many be the most iconic villain in history. However one of the more recent Jokers seems to have completely destroyed that legendary run and ironically made a mockery of the character. This was of course the thankfully short lived Joker by Jared Leto. Below is why this was the worse iteration of the Joker and why I’m thankful that he is gone.

Suicide Squad :

I remember seeing the trailers for the suicide squad and being both scared and excited. Jared Leto’s joker looked like a terrifying maniac, a monster that perfectly embodied human insanity. However when the movie dropped I was sorely disappointed. As instead of a insane genius that shows you the realities of modern society, we instead got a glorified gangster that looked more like a modern rap star. Jared Leto’s Joker only had one purpose, and that was to try and look cool for millennials. People who were born after the year two thousand who idolized gangsters with colorful hair. This is a far cry from the original character of the Joker.

The characteristics of a Joker :

While the Jokers Goal is to stay in constant conflict with Batman, he doesn’t do it because of our evil. The joker is actually just having fun. He believes that modern society is fake and he wants to show people the truth, in his own insane way. However Jared Leto’s joker does the exact opposite. He instead conforms to societies standards of a gangster and he wants people to fear him, instead of helping show people the truth. This leaves us with a generic villain who lacks the qualities of the Joker and is instead just a glorified mob boss.

Farewell and Goodbye :

This is why I was so glad when I learnt that Jared Leto was fired from the role. Because ideally, if you can’t do something well, you should be replaced. He was replaced. While I don’t believe that Joaquin Phoenix will be the official Joker of the DC universe, I do think that he is a much better Joker than Leto. Ideally, The DC universe will cast their official joker soon. However just because we said goodbye to Leto, doesn’t mean that he will be permanently leaving our screens.

The Ayer Cut :

There has been an outcry from fans for DC to release the Ayer Cut of Suicide squad. They want this because their was allegedly a ton of content filmed with Jared Leto’s Joker that they believe will redeem the character. Sadly, the recent release of The Suicide Squad and it’s steller reviews have put a hold on any possibility of the release. However fans remain hopeful. Some fans are also clinging to the possibility that the Ayer Cut will help revive the Snyder Verse. However only time will tell. One of the Most Evil men in South African History was born in 1937. His name was Cornelius Van Rooyen, but he is famously known by his nickname, Gert Van Rooyen. Superman VS Ikaris. Here's who would win.

Recently Marvel has been on a roll with their Television series and Movies. A new piece of content has been dropping every month since WandaVision Jump started Phase Four of the MCU.
