Here's why the Final three seasons of Supernatural were so bad. Finally facing reality.

Before I start let me just state that I love Supernatural as much as any other fan. So there is no toxic energy in this article. The reality of the situation is that we are a fiercely loyal fan base, because of our loyalty we overlook some things, like how bad the final few season were of Supernatural. This is why Supernatural quality gradually declined and why it’s okay to admit it.

The beginning of the End :

Supernatural first started feeling tired and fatigued in season ten. While the mark of Cain Storyline was enticing, it’s execution was flawed. Sam was able to save Den from the Mark of Cain in the first few episodes, he than proceeded to spend the rest of the season once again trying to Save Dean from the Mark of Cain. The problem with this is that once we saw it, we didn’t have to see it again. However regardless of that their were some good storyline in Season ten that I would have loved to see continued. Like the steins for example. However it seemed like things were going to start looking up.

A return to glory :

I don’t know how they did it, but after a mostly repetitive season ten, season eleven tool Supernatural back to glory. This was a season on par with season four and five. Amara was a truly frightening villain, one that was even bigger than Lucifer. The storyline was perfectly balanced and Chuck’s introduction with Fare Thee Well was the most Glorious thing I have ever seen. Supernatural was starting to feel like Supernatural again and I was so excited for what would come next. However I shouldn’t have been.

The End of The End :

I’ll be very honest with you. I barely remember seasons twelve to fourteen. That’s how bad these seasons were. The only significant. Now I’m not a hater, as I can watch any season of Supernatural and be entertained, I’m just saying these were the lowest low points of the show. With a few exceptions, two of which being Jack and Scoobynatural. Other than that I do not know what happened. This is why.

They gave up :

Being a loyal fan base, we never want to her or say anything about people involved with our favorite show. However the truth has to be told, and the truth is that the Supernatural crew grew lazy. I’ve heard extras talk about how everyone just came in, did the bare minimum and left. Seeing as how these seasons turned out I can concur. It was that was until the final season, but that’s a whole other article.

Regardless of it’s shortcomings, Supernatural is an amazing show and completely worth the time of anyone considering watching it. For rest of us fans, let’s stop living in denial and finally embrace the truth. What do you think of these observations, tell me in the comments section and follow me for more entertainment news as it happens.

  1. Though I agree that some of the larger story arcs were not as compelling in the later seasons, there were always brilliant episodes. Stuck in the Middle with You, Baby, Regarding Dean, Lily Sunder has Some Regrets as examples. I tended to trust that the writers, show runners, directors and actors were telling us the story they wanted to tell us. I just can't hate on this show. Ever.

  2. Saying we are living in denial because of one persons opinion is just silly. I loved the last few seasons. I definitely liked them better than the leviathan storyline and anything ghostfacers. I also didn’t like the British men of letters storyline. The ending was also good. In the end, art is subjective.
